Row House

Academic | Carnegie Mellon University | First Year Studio II | March through May 2013

The rowhouse was a project based around accommodating a client’s specific programmatic needs in a new build house, while simultaneously taking the surrounding context of the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Lawrenceville into account. The project brief specified the clients were a retired couple interested in painting and photography, and thus requiring a studio with diffuse light and a darkroom. With this taken into account I developed a system of programmatic tubes that defined the three main activities I envisioned taking place in the house: creating, living, and resting.
